AOMEI Backupper review

Aug. 21, 2020

AOMEI Backupper is the most convenient way to backup your entire Windows system or just your most important files. If you don't already have a backup system, this is ideal.

As developer AOMEI points out, backups are still the best defense against ransomware, including the WannaCry virus, which infects systems around the world. However, this knowledge is not always enough. If you want to get into the habit of backing up your valuable files on a regular basis, it should be as quick and effortless as possible. This is where AOMEI Backupper comes in.

AOMEI Backupper is incredibly simple and so well designed that even a beginner can safely backup their entire system and files in no time, with a regular schedule to make sure everything is up to date.

The first time you run AOMEI Backupper, it will ask you to take action against the now infamous WannaCry ransomware. If your system has not been compromised yet, you should use AOMEI tools to create a new system, file, disk or partition backup so that you can restore your files without paying permission. If your computer has been infected, you will be asked to take an image of your system, hard drive, or partition to avoid data loss before removing the virus.

AOMEI Backupper can backup your entire Windows system as ISO file or disk image, which you can burn to bootable DVD or CD using free application like ImgBurn. If you find that your system is becoming unstable or unable to load Windows, just boot from this CD to bring your system to a stable state. It is more reliable than the Windows system recovery option and you don't have to reinstall your operating system, settings and programs from scratch.

You can also use AOMEI Backupper to back up files. There are three types of file backups available: Full, which makes a full copy of all the data you have selected. Differential, which makes a copy of all data that has been added or changed since the last full backup. Incremental, which creates a copy of the data that was added or changed since the last backup, whether the backup is full or incremental.

To restore your files, you will need the most recent full backup and the most recent differential backup or all incremental backups. AOMEI Backupper allows you to schedule regular backups of your most frequently used files or directories and save the backups in a location of your choice. In the event of a disaster, the software allows you to recover it in a few clicks. AOMEI Backupper can test the integrity of your backups once completed and automatically shut down your PC when complete.

There are many free backup tools, but you will have a hard time finding one that is easier to use than AOMEI Backupper.
